Principal Software Engineer

Cyber-sovereignty is an emerging product area that reflects customer and government demand for isolated and controlled cloud environments that continue to yield the manageability and feature benefits of the public cloud.  Our charter is huge, and we are growing! As a principal software engineer in Enterprise Cloud team in Suzhou, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies to standardize and automate the build-out and operation for sovereign clouds. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments including workload teams and customer services to solve different kinds of challenges in special clouds and guarantee the high quality of all M365 services and the whole M365 cloud through evolving the existing platform and even building next-generation system by using cutting-edge technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in architecting and designing complex software systems or services.  
• Experience in technical leadership in driving engineering roadmaps, leading v-teams, mentoring and helping others grow technically. 
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving skills. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable. 
• Experience with capacity scaling/planning related work. 
• Full-stack tech skills.
