Entra Core Services seeks a Principal Engineering Manager to help our team tackle some of our most complex problems – our team, of which you would be a part, is charged to increase availability of mission-critical services, building K8S based runtime platform to serve over 1B humans globally. Required/Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

     o OR equivalent experience.

. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

     o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

     o OR equivalent experience.

· 4+ years people management experience.

. Experience in your career history as a hands-on engineer working with distributed systems.

. Deep practical experience operating high-scale services in production environments.

. Opinions on what great observability looks like, what safe deployments look like and how to troubleshoot and diagnose high-scale systems effectively.

. Examples of developing and managing requirements and making data-driven decisions. Experience in trade-off scenarios, prior ownership of a roadmap, and setting goals.

. Proven ability to lead and drive consensus on complex topics across leadership, team, and organizational boundaries and to deliver outcomes – the scope of this role is division-wide.

. Experience influencing executive leadership and executive stakeholders.

. Efficient communications skills, comfortable presenting to large audiences and customers.

. Prior experience with performance analysis and optimization of web services and software.

. Prior experience building services which run on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud or       Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

. Prior experience working in the Identity and/or Security domains.

. Prior experience building and managing K8S platform

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Our Entra services usually process millions of requests per second, reliably powering hundreds of billions of authentications per day, setting availability targets (>99.99%). You bring mix of strategy and tactics: creating clarity on where services need to be in 2-3 years' time, build and grow the right team to deliver, and dive deep into the details of what we are building.
