Description

We are looking to hire a Cloud Solution Architect Manager, Azure-Infra. As part of the larger Software & Digital Platforms Organization, you will have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with some of the brightest minds and companies in the industry. As a Cloud Solution Architect Manager, Azure-Infra, you will lead a team of Cloud Solution Architects that are building deep technical relationships with Senior Executives, business owners, and decisions makers, providing technical leadership to the team, developing and implementing technical strategies, Proof Of Concepts / Minimal Viable Products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. 

 

In this role, you will own the Azure Infrastructure technical customer engagements including architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and/or MVPs. This customer-facing role provides the opportunity to lead deep technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives, Enterprise Architects, IT Management and Developers to drive Azure-based solutions to production.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers, or equivalent (such as project management experience, indirect management experience, etc.).

 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • 6+ years experience leading technical projects, teams, or functions.
  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).
  • 5+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

 

 

Cloud Solution Architecture M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Contributes to and understands how work aligns with customer success plan and meets customer/partner needs by partnering with the appropriate internal teams and resources to deliver customer outcomes. Supports customer skilling by delivering as a trusted technical advisor to ensure customer readiness by facilitating technical discussions and enabling operational health and cloud readiness. Assesses and transfers knowledge to close customer skill gaps.

 

Business Impact

  • Identifies and anticipates issues and advises customers/partners to operate and optimize performance in accordance with Microsoft best practices. Adapts methodology and applies governance to identify, communicate, and minimize business and technical risks. Adheres to quality assurance standards and calculates risks while ensuring excellence in the design and/or delivery of solutions. Leverages standard tools to ensure accurate opportunity and milestone execution and pipeline hygiene.
  • Drives customer/partner relationships to anticipate, identify, escalate, and work to resolve technical blockers to accelerate consumption and solution implementations (e.g., by application of technical capabilities). Routes non-technical issues for removal by the appropriate party. Applies broad business and technical knowledge across various architecture or other Microsoft solutions to meet business and information technology (IT) requirements and resolve identified technical constraints. Shapes and enhances customers'' requirements.
  • Understands industry trends and the competitor''s architecture solutions and identifies Microsoft''s strengths over competitive solutions to drive conversations with customers/partners and convince them of solution.


Technical Leadership

  • Proactively develops technical and professional learning and development plan in alignment with and support from their manager. Role models effective technical readiness. Acts as a mentor and role model to less experienced colleagues to educate them on technical and non-technical concepts. Participates in development opportunities (e.g., Ready, Build, Ignite).
  • Shares ideas, insights, and strategic technical input with technical teams, internal communities across the field, and the larger virtual team across Microsoft using a thorough knowledge of specific Microsoft products and their context in the competitive landscape. Participates in external technical community events (e.g., conferences, seminars, technical meetups, Webcasts, blogs, hackathons) and shares learnings with the internal team.
  • In addition, you drive adherence to Microsoft standards and recommended practices by setting expectations for the team around methodology and governance to ensure that the team identifies, communicates, and minimizes business and technical risks. You provide the team with a holistic perspective of customer/partner challenges, industry trends, and competitor architectures to allow team members to engage with customers/partners, demonstrate Microsoft's value, and develop counter strategy. You accelerate innovation by coaching teams on building and/or modifying intellectual properties (IPs) rooted in domain expertise and/or industry acumen. Finally, you model how to engage constructively and transparently with the technical and/or business community locally and globally.
