As a Process Pathfinding and Thin Films Deposition  Intern at Micron, you will work in an industry-leading semiconductor process technology development area related to new memory devices and technologies.  In this position, you will learn about thin film deposition techniques using various toolsets, state-of-the-art thin film characterization  and other semiconductor processing techniques, materials, and structures.  As you work in a cross-functional team environment, you will help develop materials and electrical understanding to optimize electrical performance and reliability.    

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Deposition of thin films using various toolsets
• Working with lab personnel to measure physical, chemical, and electrical properties of materials
• Development and implementation of complex semiconductor processing techniques and documenting correlations to downstream observations
• Researching and learning fundamental physical and chemical mechanisms
• Presenting results of learning in small group setting
• Proposing improvement pathways for process toolsets

Qualifications:

• Experience in thin films deposition (ALD, CVD, PVD)
• Experience in thin films characterization (XRR, XPS,  XRD, SIMS, FTIR, EBSD, SEM, TEM, etc...)
• Experience in semiconductor device physics, physical and electrical characterization techniques
• Able to read and understand chemical documentation such as SDS and follow required safety protocols
• Knowledge of Labview operations or hardware modification is a plus

Education Requirements:

Graduate student in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.  Exceptional undergraduates may be considered.
