Job Description

Join an exceptional team at Micron Technology, Inc. as a Facilities Gas and Chemical Senior Engineer, where your hardworking nature will be an asset. This position, based in Taichung, Taiwan, presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of site facilities systems that support our advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in implementing capacity and scenario planning while ensuring strict compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards. Close collaboration with Facilities Teams and Manufacturing is a crucial aspect of this role.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Maintenance, Design, and Construction

• Provide system designs for safe operations and maintenance
• Develop equipment and component specifications
• Ensure designs align with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
• Keep databases up to date with capacity requirements, including Base Build capacities, POU assignments, and actual field conditions
• Track system capacity relative to current supply loads and forecasted loads
• Prepare periodic system status presentations (system capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on all approved scenarios, key system accomplishments, and challenges/issues)
• Support manufacturing scenario planning according to standard processes
• Evaluate system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes
• Provide scope for facilities infrastructure additions or modifications
• Evaluate Space Planning for future equipment and scenario changes

Provide Project Support

• Collaborate and communicate with the Global Facility (GFAC) team and manufacturing customers
• Provide detailed designs and specifications for the installation of new facilities infrastructure
• Implement designs according to standard processes and Best Known Methods (BKM) for Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
• Follow Facility and EHS Management of Change procedures (MOC)
• Provide support for cost, schedule estimates, and justification for scenario changes
• Supervise and coordinate consultant resources
• Address Model Base Problem Solving (MBPS) or make necessary corrections
• Perform system inspections per applicable code requirements and sign off on inspection reports
• Monitor progress and provide engineering and design support during construction
• Support equipment startup and commissioning

Provide consultation and support to Operations, Maintenance and Manufacturing

• Analyze systems to identify improvements resulting in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
• Conduct risk assessments and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA)
• Eliminate Single Points of Failure (SPOF) and mitigate risk
• Work with Manufacturing and GFAC teams on excursion root cause identification, elimination, and prevention
• Attend design review meetings and participate in table reviews for all First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) material designs
• Act as site representative to support corporate requests and assignments
• Benchmark with other Micron sites on operational, procedural, engineering, and design Best Known Methods (BKM)
• Support other sites and projects with personnel, consultation, documentation, etc., as needed
• Review and participate in the development and maintenance of BKM for O&M
• Maintain applicable domain knowledge (chemical theory, instrumentation control theory, high purity principles, etc.)
• Maintain equipment support knowledge (reaction modes/mechanisms, hazard protocol, leak detection, etc.)

Experience

• Above 3 years of experience in Gas/Chemical supply systems, including O&M, expansion, and improvement experience
• Above 5 years of experience in Semiconductor/TFT-LCD relevant equipment engineering, including Gas plants system design and operation experiences, Special gas/chemical manufacturing system operation and design experiences
