Job Description:

The Edge AI & Vision FAE delivers expert technical support to facilitate the integration of Microchip solutions and Hailo technologies into customer applications. Focusing on the Hailo NPU (Neural Processing Unit) and VPU (Vision Processing Unit) product portfolios, this role bridges deep learning model optimization with embedded Linux platforms to enable seamless AI acceleration on MPU and processor-based architectures.

The candidate will leverage hands-on expertise in Linux driver porting, HailoRT runtime integration, and GStreamer-based video pipeline debugging to guide customers through complex system integration challenges.

Working closely with global Business Unit (BU) teams, the Edge AI & Vision FAE will ensure the rapid resolution of field technical issues and customer requirements. Additionally, this role serves as a key voice of the customer, delivering strategic market feedback to expand Microchip’s technology leadership and business presence in the rapidly growing Edge AI market.

Job Responsibilities

• Hailo NPU Software Technical Support: Support customers with quantization, compilation, and optimization of deep learning models such as YOLO, ResNet, and Transformer-based models using the Hailo Dataflow Compiler and HailoRT runtime libraries.
• AI Acceleration Performance Optimization: Leverage the unique Dataflow Architecture of Hailo NPU to guide customers in achieving optimal frame rates (FPS) and memory bandwidth with minimum power consumption on their target platforms.
• VPU / Vision Processing Technical Support: Support customer applications based on VPU (Vision Processing Unit) and vision/video processing solutions, including system integration and performance optimization for AI and vision applications.
• Embedded Linux System Integration: Support Hailo NPU/VPU driver porting and integration in embedded Linux environments, including Kernel and Yocto, and resolve hardware/software integration issues involving PCIe or USB interfaces.
• Key Customer Technical Workshops and Seminars: Provide technical support for key customer workshops, seminars, and technical demonstrations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in embedded systems, Edge AI, AI hardware, VPU/Vision Processing, or related development and technical support.
• Experience in developing or supporting AI, computer vision, or AI acceleration solutions is preferred.
• Ability to understand English technical documentation and communicate effectively with HQ engineers and global technical teams.
• Strong customer-facing, communication, and technical presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• NPU / AI Accelerator Ecosystem Experience
  • Hands-on experience with third-party AI accelerator platforms such as NVIDIA TensorRT / DeepStream or Intel OpenVINO.
  • Practical experience using SDKs from Korean NPU companies.
• Media Processing Experience
  • Experience designing GStreamer pipelines and developing custom plugins, or practical experience with OpenCV / FFmpeg.
  • Experience optimizing video processing pipelines to convert output data from media codecs such as H.264 and H.265/HEVC into input tensors for NPU processing.
• Global Collaboration Experience
  • Experience collaborating with global HQ or overseas engineering teams.
  • Experience supporting multiple customers and working effectively across teams.
  • Strong English technical writing and communication skills.
