Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. has an Engineer I-Product/Test opening in the Networking & Connectivity Solutions (NCS) Business Unit in our Austin, TX office. In this role, you will help develop, characterize, qualify, and release industry-leading connectivity products including Ethernet, USB, and PCIe solutions while working with global cross-functional teams. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in semiconductor product development and work on next-generation networking and connectivity technologies.

Responsibilities:

 

• Support new product introduction from silicon bring-up through production release.
• Perform product characterization, qualification, and yield analysis.
• Develop and maintain automated test solutions and test programs.
• Analyze electrical and manufacturing data to identify and resolve product issues.
• Collaborate with design, validation, quality, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
• Drive improvements in product quality, test efficiency, and manufacturing performance.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, C/C++, VBA, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated individual contributor with the ability to work proactively in a collaborative environment
• Strong teamwork, organization, multitasking, communication, and active listening skills
• Technical writing and editing experience with the ability to create clear engineering documentation
• Excellent written, proof-reading, and verbal English communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior intern experience in Electronics
