As part of the Program Services team within the Mendix BITS (Business Innovation Technology Services) department, the Project Manager IT is responsible for leading the complex IT projects involving cross functional teams.

As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of planning and will ensure the business value is delivered. You know how to successfully mitigate risks and issues and will play a lead role in communicating effectively with all stakeholders involved. You are well versed in Agile and Waterfall techniques and show the agility mindset. You can combine techniques to achieve your project goals. You have knowledge in Business Analysis techniques to quickly get business acumen and apply these skills hands-on to support your team members.

You'll play a key role in communicating between internal departments and external parties working closely together with the CIO, program managers from other departments, application development & maintenance and infrastructure services team members. You’ll be the liaison between senior leadership, business and IT to successfully implement organizational changes.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • You own and drive projects from start to completion in a global environment, applying most appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • You provide clear communication to team members and relevant stakeholders.
  • You drive the project teams in a pro-active and passionate way, being best in class yourself.
  • You will support the team to build the planning, identify and manage dependencies, risks, issues and execute the plan, removing roadblocks when needed.
  • You will act as a coach toward the rest of the Mendix organization in applying Project Management

We are looking for you if you have:

  • Enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment with a pragmatic and result driven culture with fast changing priorities and company specific best practices.
  • Are not bothered by supporting your project team members with their efforts getting the project across the finish line when needed.
  • Get excited from gaining in-dept knowledge about the Mendix business processes. Being able to contribute to the subject matter experts.
  • Have the ability and desire to help build a "Way of Working" and Project Management Framework within Mendix
  • Have at least 6 years of experience in a Project Manager role within the software development Industry.
  • Have proven experience in Agile & Waterfall Project Management
  • Demonstrable ability at successfully handling multiple projects/Strategic Programmes and working with cross organization teams to ensure project success from conception to delivery.
  • Have excellent (C-level) stakeholder management skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills in English.
  • Have experience in managing financial projects is beneficial.
  • Hold a certification in any of the following PMP©, PMI-ACP®, Prince2
