Short description of the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will join our DevOps team that is passionate about getting to the bottom of the products’ needs, finding and implementing the best possible solutions, and empowering our engineering teams to move fast and deliver stable, secure and high-quality products. As part of the Platform Engineering group, you will have the drive to make sure that all the infrastructure is at its best from all aspects, from security to code delivery, in our almost completely serverless environment.

Our team doesn’t chase buzzwords and the solutions we choose are purely based on our needs. As such we are looking for someone who is driven to find the best solution, regardless of what all the other companies are doing, and most of the time be the first one to do something in a certain way.

We aspire to be as serverless as possible and heavily use lambda functions, as well other AWS services such as SQS, SNS, CloudFormation SAM and RDS.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
  • Significant experience working with AWS
  • Extensive experience in CI/CD with a focus on integration security, including data protection, infrastructure, application operations, and comprehensive monitoring
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent solutions
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools, with a focus on security
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project plans effectively.A deep understanding of production systems and scalable architecture
  • You are Independent and proactive learner, excited about new technologies, and a team player eager to make an impact on the team, product, and customers.

Bonus points: 

  • Experience with serverless services
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or other scripting languages
  • Experience in managing and provisioning databases. 
  • Expertise in DataDog

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact: 

You’ll Make An Impact On:

  • Code delivery - CI/CD process. Making sure it’s as efficient as possible.
  • Monitoring and visibility of our product’s alerts and metrics. 
  • Security - we believe that Sec is an integral part of the DevOps methodology and you’ll need to be aware of it in any decision you make.
  • Infrastructure, entirely. Databases, lambda functions, 3rd party products etc.
  • You will work closely with the engineering teams to empower them and provide them with guidance and seek to continuously improve processes across R&D.

 

About the hiring department:

The Engineering department is the backbone of Melio. We provide consultation, support and designs for technical solutions—supporting our customers and the entire organization. We get involved from the early stage of a project, making the connection between customer needs, our product design, and then translating these into solutions. 

The Platform engineering group is responsible for 2 main areas:

  • DevOps - all Melio’s Devops engineers are building the engineering infrastructure and responsible for SRE (site reliability engineering) and DevX (Developer Experience) 
  • Platform Services - Common services that serves Melio’s products (Such as authentication service, file service, Notifications such as emails and SMS sent to users And developers’ common tool, templates and packages

What’s our stack?

In Melio, we are all in with AWS Serverless. Meaning all our services are managed by AWS and our infrastructure is deployed using SAM CLI built over CloudFormation.

Serverless gives us the freedom to build, scale and deploy applications faster than ever. We combine the usage of relational and document DBS, write mainly in TypeScript and Python for consistency and ability to share resources.
