This role is in the Cranial & Spinal Technologies business. CST develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes. 

 

 

In this role, your will apply your education, experience, and technical expertise toward developing world class manufacturing process within the new product development and design transfer space (both hardware and software). You will be responsible for work instructions, line setup, tool/fixture design, preventive maintenance requirements, process characterization, validations, DFM/DFA support and much more.  

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling. 

  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. 

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. 

  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. 

  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. 

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. 

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. 

  • Provides guidance to product development engineers regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. 

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. 

  • Contributes to the completion of project milestones. 

  • May have some involvement in cross functional assignments. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelors degree required with 4+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 2 years of experience) 

 

NICE TO HAVE:  

  • Medical device experience 

  • Manufacturing /Process Engineering experience 

  • Experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis 

  • Experience with process and equipment validation and qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) 

  • Assembly fixture, aids, equipment design and implementation experience 

  • 2-4 years Capital Equipment experience 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong problem solving skills 

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification – Green Belt

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$97,600.00 - $146,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
