Medtronic – Milwaukee, WI manufactures spinal implants and Brain/ENT instrument components. In this exciting and fulfilling role the Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing quality support to the product value stream, ensuring that customer and patient needs are met every day. They will be part of a passionate team dedicated to ensuring our products meet the highest standards.

The Senior Quality Engineer is involved in developing, modifying, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into finished products. The role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards, devises inspection methods, conducts quality assurance tests, and performs statistical analysis to evaluate product precision and accuracy. Responsibilities include ensuring corrective measures meet reliability standards and compliance with documentation requirements. The role may specialize in various areas such as design, production control, and product evaluation.

In this role, the Senior Quality Engineer is critical in supporting key department metrics, which contributes to the global strategy while delivering on our mission to manufacture products of the highest quality that alleviate pain, restore health and extend the life of our patients. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality

Nice to Have

  • Validation Experience (IQ, OQ, TMV, PQ)

  • 5+ years of related quality engineering experience

  • Previous Quality experience working in medical device or related industry

  • Experience with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 FDA Quality System Regulation, MDSAP, ISO 14971 risk management and/or other relevant international standards.

  • Certified Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt or experience in DMAIC methodology

  • Experience with FTQ

  • Working knowledge of hardware development for medical devices.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$94,400.00 - $141,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet.
