Job overview

Are you experienced in software development and passionate about developing people while solving customer problems?

Medius are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high performing team responsible for the delivery and operation of one of our flagship AI products. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on agile methodologies, product development, and team empowerment.

Your base will be our fantastic Cracow R&D office, with some of your colleagues spread across Europe.

What will you do?

• Team Leadership: Act as a line manager for your team, conducting 1:1 meetings, managing performance reviews, and fostering a culture of career development and continuous learning.
• Product Delivery: Oversee the execution of the development plan, ensuring timely delivery of new features and maintaining existing functionality to meet customer needs.
• Coding and Technical Contribution: Engage in hands-on coding, particularly in C# and Python, to contribute to the development and optimization of our products. Provide technical guidance and code reviews to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
• DevOps and Lifecycle Management: Lead the team in adopting DevOps practices, ensuring responsibility for the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and production support. Foster a culture of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Collaboration: Promote effective collaboration within your team and with other departments to ensure alignment with product goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Quality Assurance: Be accountable for the maintainability and quality of the product, ensuring high standards are met consistently.
• Innovation: Encourage a culture of innovation within the team, leveraging AI technologies to enhance product capabilities and development processes.

What kind of experience should you have?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in progressively responsible roles.
• Experience leading development teams, demonstrating the ability to motivate and guide team members.

Skills:

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide your team towards achieving development goals.
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth and skill development.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in coding with C#, including a strong ability to review, understand, and optimize code for performance and maintainability.
• Communication: Effective communication skills for interaction with team members, stakeholders, and other departments.
• Innovation: Passionate about promoting a culture of innovation to drive continuous improvement.
• Process Improvement: Enthusiastic about automating processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

What about the tech stack? 

Our main languages are C# and Python, with our applications hosted on Azure in containerized environments. As our product leverages AI capabilities, familiarity with AI tools such as LangChain, and LangGraph would be highly beneficial. This knowledge will enable you to effectively contribute to the development and enhancement of our AI-driven solutions.
