Job Description

The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.

The Manager Tech Lead for Restaurant Tech – Instore Tools will be responsible for the technical direction, strategy, overall development, and market adoption of Instore Tools and capabilities across our restaurants. This role is accountable for driving the Engineering squads towards completing the backlog, leading the development of the product/platform features, and leading the daily activities of the squad.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Establish a technical vision and strategy for restaurant technology Instore tools, specifically focusing on Deployment Console Tool.
  • Drive a technical direction for the product, participate in partner selection, and lead a development team.
  • Lead the output (quality and efficiency) of external vendor squads.
  • Ensure the solutions are in line with the architectural, quality and security standards/ practices.
  • Attend squad ceremonies and act as the leader for Software Development Engineers (SDE’s) in the squad
  • Maintain documentation standards for all software shipped by the squad
  • Accountable for deployment of releases including QA, push to production and defect remediation.
  • Collaborate across functions (e.g. Segment/Market partners, GT teams and Program Management) to ensure alignment of technology strategies with product roadmaps
  • Communicate effectively by expressing ideas and viewpoints to collaborators; initiating and managing projects; prioritising tasks; resolving issues; and ensuring personal and team responsibility for achieving desired outcomes.
  • Mentor and train engineers, provide design assistance, and review work products in the technical field.

Qualifications

  • Computer science /Engineering Degree or equivalent technical education.
  • 5+ years of technology management and hands-on SDE required.
  • Experience with application frameworks/technologies like C#, .NET, Angular, Azure and CosmosDB
  • Proficient in key architecture concepts and principles, including Domain-Driven Design, Microservices etc.
  • Experienced with owning quality and standard processes in automation and testing.
  • Significant software development experience, with expertise in Agile software delivery practices
  • Proficiency in code refactoring, design patterns, developing user-centered designs, continuous deployment, building scalable applications, and ensuring application security.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills; approach and skills in research and analysis
  • A passion for new technologies and strive to find ways to implement better tools and processes
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams and managing indirect reports to achieve goals
  • Curious, passionate about tasks, and motivated to take initiative with a proven history of achieving results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical partners.
