 Summary  

MasterControl is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our Machine Learning (ML) team. This role involves designing and building robust backend systems that support the deployment and integration of machine learning models into web applications. You will work closely with all members of the team across the stack to build AI applications as well as an extensible platform that supports other applications to easily be able to integrate ML enriched features. 

 Responsibilities 

• Lead in the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable services and features 

• Lead on creating, documenting, and deploying feature release candidates 

• Document architectural design and API contracts with integrating applications. 

• Support the continuous development and maintenance of deployed services 

• Develop application monitoring solutions to monitor performance and implement improvements 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions 

• Be a technical mentor and example to your team and peers 

• Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and best practices 

Requirements 

• 7+ years in software engineering with object-oriented programming languages and frameworks 

• Strong proficiency in Java and Python languages 

• Experience with Java Spring Boot framework 

• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and data structures 

• Experience with SQL, JPA, Hibernate, and vector embedding search 

• Experience with React or other reactive frontend frameworks 

• Experience with GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and event streaming (Kafka) 

• Experience working with a cloud technology stack (Azure, AWS or GCP, preferably AWS) 

• Strong understanding of LLM deployment, fine tuning, training, prompt engineering 

• Experience with integration of LLM models into web applications 

• Experience with multi-agent AI frameworks 

• Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$200,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
