The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of software development, from conceptualization to delivery, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the software engineering department, aligning technology initiatives with the company's overall objectives and growth plans.
2. Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing software engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
3. Technical Vision: Define and communicate the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our software products, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
4. Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality releases that meet customer requirements and market demands.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including product management, design, quality assurance, and operations, to drive cross-functional alignment and deliver integrated solutions.
6. Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends, evaluating new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance our development processes and product offerings.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring robust security, scalability, and reliability of our software systems, while adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
8. Performance Management: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of software engineering operations, driving continuous performance improvements.
9. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to executive leadership, board members, and other stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven track record of leadership in software engineering, with at least [X years] of experience in progressively senior roles.
• Deep technical expertise in software development methodologies, programming languages, and technologies, with a focus on scalable and distributed systems.
• Expertise in full stack development, including React for front-end and Spring Boot for back-end, as well as other microservice technologies and DevOps tools.
• Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive organizational change.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and accountability.
