Overview
The Employee Digital Experience Virtual Workspace team is seeking an experienced Application Virtualization Packaging Engineer focused on Virtual Desktop & Virtual Applications, to drive our customer experience strategy forward, by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

You will be a member of the Virtual Workspace Services Team within Employee Digital Experience under the O.N.E organization. The Virtual Workspace Services Team is responsible for engineering, delivering and supporting all global EUC Virtual Workspaces platforms and services across the firm including any Mergers & Acquisition environments.

As a Application Virtualization Packaging Engineer focused on Virtual Desktop & Virtual Applications, you will be working closely with the Lead Application Virtualization Packaging SME. Implement and Support solutions to meet or exceed user experience expectations and transform the way we work in the future striving to an Enhanced Next Generation Digital Workspace.
Role
• Work with the wider team to design end-to-end solutions to assist with many different businesses’ requirements planning, installation, configuration, optimization, and support for innovative technical solutions focused on a highly Secure Core EUC / Desktop Virtualization technologies.
• Client Software Virtualization packaging and repackaging Virtual Desktops & Virtual Applications, this will cover from discovery through to deployment support.
• Package based on BAU, Lifecycle management as well as project related initiatives.
• Participate in project planning sessions and project delivery.
• Prepare documentation for use by Operational staff, providing oversight and ownership.
• Analyse and rectify packaging problems.
• Implement and maintain global standards for processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with the various countries, their platform and release teams, internal and external suppliers, with the stakeholders to ensure and drive service delivery, improvements, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with SLAs.
• Develop, test, and maintain software packages for distribution to user desktops, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintain effective local documentation including standard operating procedures, best practices, and methodologies for application virtualization packaging and OS deployment.
• Work to identity and drive improvements with Automation and Security in mind.
• Awareness of Security principals for End User Computing; Multi-Factor Authentication, Zero Trust, DLP, End Point Security etc.
• Create technical documentation and all relevant hand over documentation including technical design documents and operational runbooks.
• Develop strong working relationship with peers across other vertical teams, stake holders and help position a secure EUC / Desktop Virtualization eco-system.
• Ensure that the services we deliver are technically architected to meet or exceed business expectations.
• Proficient level of knowledge and a natural interest on the technology landscape of the future, tracking industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture and Employee Digital Experience needs.
• Support various localization initiatives including any new Mergers & Acquisitions relating to Desktop Virtualization and ensure these business requirements are turned into technical solutions, implemented, and proactively managed.
• Support the Organizations strategy for the Next Generation Digital Workspace.

All About You
• Comfortable working within a rapidly changing environment and flexibility to work around deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
• A preference would be someone with knowledge and experience of working on Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and VMWare vSphere, VMWare AppVolumes / ThinApp, Numecent, MSIX Packaging skills, App-V 4.5/5.0, AdminStudio, Wise Package studio, Wise script and good knowledge of packaging using PSAppDeploy Toolkit and MSIX App Attach.
• Knowledge of leveraging Software Package Automation Tools, AppCure.
• Supporting pilot phase through to industrialization of packaging solutions.
• Strong experience using PowerShell - PSADT, VB script, CMD, Process Monitor, Reg Shot, Event Viewer
• Ability to work independently and part of a team.

• Collaborate with application owners, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and understand application dependencies.
• Package and customize applications for deployment in accordance with organizational standards and best practices.
• Test and validate application packages to ensure compatibility and proper functioning on target systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application packaging issues and deployment failures, working closely with technical support teams and vendors.
• Participate in project planning and provide technical expertise and guidance for application packaging and deployment activities.
• Excellent scripting and associated discipline knowledge (PowerShell, version control systems, python).
• KPI driven with a structured problem-solving approach.
• Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential.
• Handled complex packages involving Driver installation, Silent installation, and Nested MSI installation.
• Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including packaging standards, processes, and deployment procedures.
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
• Work closely with client, suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing.
• Ability to build professional relationships stay positive, authentic and an innovative thinker.
• Strong level of Large-scale enterprise Citrix CVAD / Citrix Cloud, both on-prem and Cloud-hosted, with migration to Cloud a key advantage.
• Strong knowledge in configuration & troubleshooting with hands-on experience of Citrix CVAD / Citrix Cloud, AWS & Azure coupled with Application Delivery (Application Layering or Streaming) & Profile Management technologies.
• Be a strong, confident, and exacting writer and speaker, able to communicate our vision and speak to roadmaps effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Always looks for potential solutions to solve challenges.
• Working closely with external IT vendors and monitoring/ tracking vendor standards and deliverables.

Desirable Capabilities
• Strong Knowledge and Hands on with Hypervisors, Hyperconverged Platforms e.g., VMWare vSphere & vSAN, Nutanix.
• Good Knowledge of Cloud Platforms specifically for Virtual Desktops; namely AWS or Azure
• Experience with Digital Experience Monitoring software such as Control Up, Liquidware Stratusphere UX, Lakeside Systrack, Login VSI
