Overview
As a Platform Engineer you would be focused on build, implementation and support of Mastercard ONE (RTP & Applications) platforms and AWS cloud environments (UNIX, Linux, Redhat, OEL, Solaris, AIX, VMware).

The role requires a focus on service to ensure that all SLA’s and availability targets are met.

The role also requires thought leadership and an ability to drive IT initiatives that continually improve our efficiency, agility, performance, availability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develops, builds, maintains and tests assigned technologies, including associated software and hardware
• Resolves problems of moderate scopes as they arise, and provides high-level technical assistance to development programmers and customers to ensure proper performances
• Assists in implementation, supports configuration, and ensures standards, process, and procedures are in place for cloud environments ( AWS ) environments.
• Supports compliance posture which includes escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions in AWS
• Drafts and reviews status reports and performs implementation and troubleshooting activities, updating project plans as required
• Supports business and process improvement initiatives, proactively sharing ideas that may impact team performance
• May manage smaller project/initiatives as an experienced individual contributor with specialized knowledge within assigned discipline

Experiences

•Knowledge of AWS Landing Zones: Control Tower, AWS Organizations, SCPs, IAM, AWS Config, VPCs, Networking, Transit gateway SecurityHub, AWS SSO
•Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus.
•strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and familiarity with AWS platforms is preferred.
•Strong interest in learning and pursuing a career in cloud engineering, with a passion for technology and innovation.
• Gains experience supporting technology initiatives within own domain
• Gains experience collaborating with internal partners to troubleshoot operational and engineering activities
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Gains experience supporting process improvement efforts including automation and/or cloud delivery
• Participates in business resource groups and global technical communities of practice (e.g., Tech Leadership Network)
• Hands-on experience in applying or enabling containers and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS etc.)
• Hands-on experience in applying or enabling the use of observability technologies like Dynatrace, ELK stack or Prometheus.
• Hands-on experience in applying or working with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation
• Working knowledge of HashiCorp configuration management products such as Packer, Vault.
• Hands-on experience of automation and scripting using tools such as Python, Groovy and Ruby.
• Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and experience of enabling team delivery through technology (Confluence, JIRA, Nexus, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins etc.)
• Exposure to latest AWS networking standards and new technologies such as AWS Transit Gateways, WAF's, VPN's and proxies
