Job Title

Manager, Solution Engineering – Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS)

At Mastercard Payment Gateway Services we aim to touch as many transactions on any rails, while adding and distributing as many Mastercard value added services as possible along the payment journey.
The MPGS product team is part of a global product function at the center of payments innovation delivering leading customer experiences through our gateway platform. As part of this remit the team is responsible for defining the strategy, and executing the delivery of, market-leading payment gateway products & value-added services to our acquirers and merchants on a global basis.
Within the MPGS team, the Solution Engineering role will focus and be responsible for:
• Partner with regional teams within the pre-sales process, offer technical expertise and translate a deep understanding of our gateway solution to merchant / partner requirements
• Identify integration needs to meet the targeted consumer journey across both online and F2F channels
• Translate a deep understanding of our gateway solution to merchant / partner requirements
• Provide technical API integration support to merchant teams
• Analyse customer requirements to determine the optimum solution that includes gateway capabilities such as Alternative Payment Methods, Reporting / onboarding API etc
• Identify new market needs, product gaps and partner with product management teams to champion product enhancements and build a competitive product
• Proactively keep management informed of critical customer issues/concerns.
• Oversee timely and high-quality execution of merchant implementations to drive faster time to revenue


About you:
• A solid engineering background: 7+ years of experience in payments, backend, and API development.
• Strong knowledge of payment processing ideally in a merchant environment and a good knowledge of technology solutions that power merchant channels such as mobile, web, IVR etc
• Proven track record of working with partners / technology solution providers within merchant verticals such as retail, government, telecom or airlines.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Experience or interest in developing backends, APIs, libraries, and SDKs
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Self-starter, ability to deal with ambiguity
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and matrixed environment
