Job Summary
SummaryThe Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) McCance Center for Brain Health in the MGB Neurology Department is an interdisciplinary research center with the mission to promote healthy brain aging and prevent neurodegenerative disease through innovative research. We focus on clinical trials for Alzheimer’s Disease therapies including natural, drug, and lifestyle interventions. We are in an exciting phase of growth that includes a single site trial of a natural product combination and a platform trial to accelerate testing of multiple potential therapies for AD early intervention. We are looking for a Data Manager to join our team.
Join the McCance Center as a Data Manager and help drive innovative clinical research through high-quality data management and analytics. In this role, you will develop and maintain clinical research databases and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, oversee data quality and regulatory compliance, implement data monitoring and query management processes, and support clinical trials from study start-up through database lock.
Working closely with investigators, clinical research coordinators, project managers, and data analysts, you will transform complex datasets into actionable insights through reporting, visualization, and analysis. The ideal candidate has experience with clinical research or healthcare data, REDCap or other EDC platforms, SQL and relational databases, and statistical programming tools such as R, SAS, or STATA. Responsible for extracting knowledge and insights from data in order to investigate business/operational problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis, and/or visualization techniques.
Essential Functions
Collects, analyzes, and reports data to support decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and/or specific business performance issues.
-Collates, models, interprets, and analyzes data.
-Explains variances and trends in data.
-Identifies and documents enhancements to modeling techniques.
-Completes thorough quality assurance procedures, ensuring accuracy, reliability, trustworthiness, and validity of work.
-Performs data validation of source-to-target data for data visuals and dashboards.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Analysis required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience working with data, preferably healthcare data 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Healthcare knowledge, particularly as it pertains to electronic medical record data, is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau.
- Knowledge and application of statistical analyses, including variance analysis and statistical significance, are preferred.
- Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
