The Senior Engineer (AI Engineer) is accountable for accelerating and governing the adoption of AI across Mashreq Digital's engineering practice, including building, rolling-out and maintaining the tooling, standards and controls that allow squads to deliver software with AI assistance safely, consistently and cost-effectively.

This is a hands-on engineering role. The job holder will be a practicing software engineer with depth in either frontend or backend, and applies their engineer knowledge to AI-assisted development. They work with Principal Engineers, reporting to the Digital Engineering Chapter Lead, to ensure the AI practice is aligned with the engineering standards across Retail Banking Group.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

• As a practicing engineer first and foremost, write, review and ships production code, and earns credibility with the squads they support
• Owns the operational health of AI engineering: adoption, output quality, token and license consumption, and cost per unit of delivery
• Documents trains & runs enablement, so good practice is scaled rapidly
