Assistant Vice President - Technology- Core Banking Program

Mashreq is upgrading to the latest Oracle FLEXCUBE Core Banking platform in GCC countries and international locations. This role supports this initiative by providing subject matter expertise on the new system. The Techno-Functional Expert and System Analyst will oversee technical requirements, support, infrastructure, product development, and deployment, ensuring state-of-the-art technology.

The Technical SME will analyze technical needs, understand infrastructure, develop products with extensibility, and handle deployments. Responsibilities span the full technology stack, working with a cross-functional team, including Product Owners, developers, vendors and engineers.

This role delivers IT solutions to meet business and functional requirements, managing the SDLC of Change Management from requirements to post-implementation maintenance. The Technical Lead will manage SLA, schedule, budget, scope, testing, quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. 

Key Results Area

• Provide functional and technical expertise, and recommendations in the overall solution approach, integration requirements, etc.
• Review and evaluate technical requirements against existing and proposed systems, offering a recommended approach to providing solutions.
• Analyze technical requirement changes and their impact on existing systems.
• Manage integration/design documentation detailing deliverables to meet requirements.
• Assist the development team by explaining banking concepts and verifying correct issue resolution/functionality developed by the team.
• Oversee issue resolution activities by guiding and assisting the development team, and maintaining a good relationship with them.
• Handle the implementation of customized FLEXCUBE solutions at bank sites, and support integration, performance, and security testing.
• Verify project plans, RACI matrix, and production transfer documentation.
• Monitor applications to ensure they have adequate system resources to process at production standards.
• Review and evaluate business requirements against existing and proposed systems, providing a recommended approach for solutions.
• Analyze functional requirement changes and their impact on existing systems.
• Prepare solution documentation (System Requirement Specifications - SRS) that outlines deliverables to meet requirements.
• Develop and execute Technical Design Specifications and programs.
• Participate actively in issue resolution activities by guiding and assisting the development team, and maintaining a good functional relationship with them.
• Understand business requirements from the bank and effectively convert and prepare the Requirement Specifications and Functional Specifications.
• Implement customized FLEXCUBE solutions at bank sites and conduct integration testing.
• Prepare specifications for enhancements and change requests.
• Prepare and verify production transfer documentation.
• Maintain documentation describing custom configuration and parameterization of third-party provided solutions.
• Monitor applications to ensure they have adequate system resources to process at production standards.
• Provide technical guidance, information, and instruction to other IT staff requiring broader subject knowledge.
• Follow guiding principles of Core Banking Implementation and ensure adherence to these principles throughout the project by all stakeholders.
• Create required repositories and manage version control of sources and documents.
• Conduct system analysis and provide support in response to business requirements.
• Work effectively with vendors and internal teams for stability, monitoring and control, capacity management, and incident management of critical bank applications.
• Achieve agreed SLAs.
• Conduct system analysis and provide support in response to user issues.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in the assessment of issues and initiatives to support and enhance systems.
• Analyze functional requirement changes and their impact on existing system functionality.
• Help the development team by explaining banking concepts and verifying correct issue resolutions/functionality developed by the team.
• Prepare test cases and corresponding test data for executing test cases.
• Actively participate in issue resolution activities by guiding and assisting the development team, and maintaining a good functional relationship with them.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) following production system disruptions.
• Maintain documentation describing custom configuration and parameterization of third-party provided solutions.
• Monitor applications to ensure they have adequate system resources to process at production standards.
