Job Overview

This role focuses on electrical and electromechanical product development, with responsibilities spanning electronic hardware design, testing, automation development, prototyping, and cross-functional product integration. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, building and testing prototypes, performing engineering analysis, creating specifications, working with suppliers, supporting production implementation, and researching new technologies. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to develop, test, and implement solutions that meet product and customer needs.

Highlights of your role

• Design and problem-solving activities: Design, troubleshoot, and validate electronic circuits and systems used in new product development initiatives.
• Automation: Design, develop, and validate automated test systems used to evaluate product performance, reliability, and functionality.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical reports, engineering documentation, test procedures, and product specifications.
• Circuit Board Design: A basic understanding of circuit board design and firmware development, and testing. 
• Product Knowledge: Become intimately familiar with our current electronic products and how they are implemented into our fenestration products.
• Exposure to mechanical design or electromechanical product development.
• Build, modify, and evaluate prototypes to support concept development and product validation.
• Other functions: Product installation and setup testing, production support, soldering of small electronics with high quality a plus, Ability to read and comprehend engineering systems requirements documents

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering required. 
• 0-2 years of experience within related industries
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software (Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) preferred
• Working knowledge of PCB design tools, embedded systems experience, lab equipment, Oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems preferred.
• Experience developing mechanical and electromechanical design solutions preferred
• Must be able to be a positive member of a team environment, an individual who possesses self-motivation skills and is dependable and trustworthy
• Must be able to problem-solve and communicate effectively
• Must possess proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities and be able to work with power tools and computer equipment

Compensation

$70,000 to $90,000 annually
