This role is part of Marsh McLennan Corporate IT and supports the Guy Carpenter Client Group; therefore, knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry will be advantageous. You will be working directly with a team of 28 professionals based in London and across global locations. The position is hybrid and requires the candidate to be in the London office at least three days a week.
The Programme Manager, Performance Governance Lead, is a multi-disciplinary role that encompasses Guy Carpenter’s Client Support Services (CSS) application development and implementation, project management, and governance of the CSS application portfolio. The candidate will be assigned projects to manage and maintain overall control of a portfolio of projects. This role ensures that IT projects of all sizes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The candidate will collaborate with the IT Director of Support Services to manage and oversee the budget and operations, including resource allocation and ongoing capacity planning.
The ideal candidate must possess a robust background in technology, project management, audit management, and governance, and be highly adaptive. They should be collaborative, organised, and analytical, with the ability to partner effectively with other teams on an ongoing basis.
We will count on you to:
Be the primary point of contact and take accountability for the delivery of assigned projects/programs.
Define project goals, success criteria, and expectations in collaboration with stakeholders.
Manage initiatives successfully through all project or program phases within the constraints of time, budget, scope, and quality.
Create and manage a realistic and credible project plan using tools such as Planview, MS Project, or Excel, negotiating project deliverables, milestones, and target dates.
Establish and facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders and teams, ensuring clarity on goals, priorities, and responsibilities for all team members.
Lead the annual budget process for GCIT CSS and facilitate quarterly budget forecast reviews.
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Knowledge of insurance or reinsurance, or knowledge of working in the wider financial services industry is essential.
Comparable experience in delivering IT and large-scale application implementation projects in a global, matrix environment.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
What makes you stand out?

Implementation experience with both off-the-shelf products and custom-developed applications.
Proven track record of delivering programs/projects on time, within budget, and in scope.
