We are seeking a talented individual to join our Solutions Architecture team at Marsh Tech.

This role will be based in Dublin. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

You will join our global Architecture, Technology and Engineering hub as the first, Dublin based, Lead Solutions Architect, leading a team of geographically distributed Solution Architects, embedded in our delivery Pods & Squads, delivering key Global projects, shaping strategic technology capability for Marsh.

Collaborating with like-minded, innovative colleagues across geographies including UK, US Latin America, AsiaPac & India - together you will help define, implement and manage application design patterns, standards and approaches, establishing and evolving a refreshed Solution Architecture practice within Marsh Tech Architecture & Engineering.

We will count on you to:

• Collaborate with your colleagues in the broader Marsh and MMC Tech organisations to define and implement a set of standard design patterns and approaches that support our strategic goals including delivering with speed and agility; and reducing the unit cost of technology
• Be innovative in your thinking and use your expertise to influence the MMC technology roadmap
• Take your architectural designs through our on boarding processes to ensure they meet MMC’s standards and conventions
• Lead and participate in architecture reviews as part of MMC’s Architecture Assurance process
• Help us build a geographically distributed team of highly capable Solution Architects, who will be embedded with our delivery teams (in a scaled Agile Pods & Squads model), and who can drive the adoption and implementation of our standard design patterns through hands-on technical leadership, guidance and empowerment for engineering teams
• Lead the Solution Architecture team to achieve our goals around delivery with agility, reduced unit cost through re-use, etc
• Be an involved member in our technology community, championing the latest technologies and trends within MMC and the wider industry Provide thought leadership around how technology can be deployed in new and innovative ways to provide a source of competitive advantage to Marsh.
• Work with other technology groups and stakeholders across MMC Tech , sharing your knowledge, successes and learnings with your colleagues, to ensure alignment with companywide tooling, standards and processes.

What you need to have: 

• Experience in building and leading highly capable distributed technology teams, ideally including experience working with teams based in India
• Deep experience of modern application architectures, and in environments and cultures focused on achieving highly robust and performant software products at a reduced unit cost, with high degree of re-use
• A broad and deep range of experience in the tech industry; across technologies and business problems.
• Excellent knowledge across a range of modern technology tools, languages and processes, to include, Angular/React, Camunda, Kafka, MongoDB, Node.js, Open AI API, REST API, Apigee Hybrid, Kubernetes.
