Job Description

We are looking for a Software Technical Analyst to join the Information Systems team at MBPS, supporting and maintaining critical and non‑critical applications across GWAM. As part of the L2 Application System Support team, this role works within an Agile, high‑performing environment delivering application support, deployment, business requirements gathering, and data analysis. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical and customer service skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, curious mindset, with a solid understanding of wealth and asset management systems. You will be responsible for devising and supporting solutions that integrate seamlessly with enterprise application frameworks and conform to Manulife standards, ensuring reliable, scalable, and well‑aligned business solutions.
 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Adapt to Global Technology / Segment wide organization / Business Unit’s strategy particularly with the support model and goal. 

  • Support a wide variety of systems from a Level 2/3 perspective using DevSecOps and other methodologies or support models as aligned by MBPS, Business Unit or Stakeholders. 
  • Work with business clients, internal and external teams to debug or trouble shoot applications. 
  • Develop/Investigate SQL stored procedures, VBA macros, Python scripts, Java scripts from a support perspective to debug issues or perform analysis for minor enhancements. 
  • Experienced in analysis regarding data related concerns such as incorrect data, mismatch or any data quality check. 
  • Coordinate development efforts with the development team for major/minor enhancements. 
  • Investigate feed/file delivery, quality check and failures using any batch or workflow related tools by the team (e.g., Azure Data Factory, CAW-LA, Databricks)
  • Create, design, and build report through tools such as PowerBI, Power Automate or PowerApps 
  • Track and produce key metrics for the team and develop strategies to increase efficiency.
  • Remain current on standards, technologies, approaches and methodologies. 
  • Consistently apply the concept of continuous improvement. 
  • Document findings and processes as part of application support. 
  • Gather and clearly document code changes for minor application enhancements and production defects. Perform QA testing to validate expectations of code changes, if needed. 
  • Liase between business users and IT internal and external teams. 
  • Coordinate business users testing activity for application code changes. 
  • Adhoc responsibilities as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience supporting systems at Level 2 (support). 

  • Experience with relational database structures and methodologies. 
  • Proven ability to multitask both independently and within a team. 
  • Ability to understand business process requirements and using technology, conceptualize creative solutions through implementation. 
  • Knowledge of financial services, specifically investment management. 
  • Client and action oriented, takes initiative, creative and proactive thinker. 
  • Awareness of ITIL (incident, problem, change management) practices in aligning IT services with the needs of business. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline. 
  • Licenses: Not required. 
  • Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite) 
  • Amenable to work at UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) 
  • Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (flexible depending on business need) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences 

  • Can translate a more complex technical problem into business terms 
  • Strong application development/programming skills 
  • Solution design mindset - Ability to constructively challenge business requirements, technical requirements and any other direction that is received, to ensure we are building the BEST solution 
  • Work well independently as well as in a team environment as situation dictates 
  • Have strong knowledge with the following tools:
  • - Batch monitoring tools such as CA Workload Automation (or related scheduling software) 
  • - JAVA
  • - MS SQL / Oracle 
  • - Shell Scripting/ Power Shell / UNIX 
  • - Informatica development (or related ETL tools) 
  • - / Jira / other workflow tools 
  • - MS Azure Databricks
  • - Power Platform Tools (e.g., PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
