Job Description

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Engineering/ Maintenance to join our dynamic team at Malayan Flour Mills Berhad in Pasir Gudang, Johor. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient and reliable performance of our production facilities.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to optimise plant and equipment performance

• Coordinating and monitoring the execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities

• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimise downtime and maximise production output

• Analysing maintenance data and providing recommendations for process improvements

• Managing and supervising the engineering and maintenance team to deliver high standards of service

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's overall operational objectives

Qualifications

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar engineering/maintenance role, preferably in the manufacturing industry

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians and engineers

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues

• Proficient in project management techniques and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels

• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and safety standards

• PLC & automation experience would be added advantage.
