What youโll do
- You will lead and grow one of the Platform Engineering teams at Make, focusing on improving engineering productivity and optimizing the developer journey
- You will lead a team of up to 6 engineers and grow them through mentoring, coaching, 1-on-1s, and pair programming, as needed.
- You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of our developer tools and workflows, identify patterns and best practices, promote them across the engineering organization, and drive the adoption
- You will work closely with Engineering and Product leadership to contribute to the vision and strategy for improving developer productivity and measuring its impact

What we expect from you
You have a wide technical experience of designing and building end-to-end solutions that empower developers. Youโre passionate about influencing an environment where engineers excel, and are highly productive. You feel confident in shaping the streamlining of the entire software development lifecycle, establishing and evangelizing best practices, adopting new tooling, removing roadblocks, and committed to drive the change.
Work closely with engineering and product leadership to define key performance and productivity indicators, measure developer satisfaction, and identify the limitations with the remediation steps to get the productivity to the next level.
The team you will lead is focused on creating and maintaining internal tools, standards, and workflows that enable teams to build, ship, and innovate faster and reliably. Your mission is to modernize and optimize not only the development pipeline but also the entire developer journey, ensuring its stability, scalability, efficiency, and promoting developer satisfaction. Here's what we're looking for:
- Typically 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus and expertise in backend development and cloud infrastructure.
- Typically 2+ years in a leadership role, preferably within a platform engineering, developer productivity, or developer experience domain.
- Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from building features, version control to deployment, monitoring, and incident management
- Strong enthusiasm for developing and maintaining internal platforms, services, libraries, and frameworks that streamline the development process, improve developer workflows, and enhance the overall developer satisfaction.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to reduce build times, increase deployment frequency, and ensure overall pipeline stability and reliability.
- Experience in ownership and enhancing common developer tools (e.g., version control systems, CI/CD tools).
- Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, and automation principles.
- Experience in shaping developer onboarding processes, creating reusable templates and blueprints, and establishing standards to maintain efficiency, scalability, and governance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective partnership with various teams and stakeholders across the company.
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written (we're an international team).
