Software Engineer - ServiceNow

Job Purpose/summary

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions that drive efficiency and innovation in our IT service delivery processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate business needs into technical requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our ServiceNow platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design ServiceNow solutions that align with organizational goals.

• Design, develop and implement complex workflows, automation, and integrations with third-party systems to meet business needs, ensuring optimal user experience and functionality. Stay up to date with the latest ServiceNow features,

• Develop custom applications, modules, scripts, and integrations within the ServiceNow platform to meet specific business needs.

• Analyse and resolve technical issues related to the ServiceNow platform, including debugging, root cause analysis, and implementing solutions.

• Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of configuration items (CIs).

• Implement automation using workflows and orchestration to streamline processes such as incident management, change control, and service request fulfilment.

• Customize forms, fields, and user interfaces to enhance user experience and meet usability standards.

• Integrate the ServiceNow platform with other systems and tools to facilitate data exchange and process flow.

• Write and maintain server-side and client-side scripts, including Business Rules, UI Policies, and Script Includes.

• Conduct thorough testing of ServiceNow configurations, applications, and scripts to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of ServiceNow configurations and solutions, including technical design documents and user guides.

• Provide support and troubleshooting for ServiceNow-related issues and assist with problem resolution.

• Stay updated on ServiceNow best practices and emerging features and propose and implement enhancements to optimize the platform.

Required experience

• Overall 5+ years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer; including experience in custom application development.

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification (required).

• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide Script, and other scripting languages used in ServiceNow.

• Experience with REST and SOAP web services, as well as integration methods.

• Ability to work in a complex large multinational company.

• Demonstrable experience of working in a complex operational IT environment
