Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain Python applications and scripts to support various business processes and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business analysts, to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Design and implement data pipelines, data processing, and data analysis tools using Python and relevant frameworks.
- Optimize and maintain existing Python code to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues reported by end-users.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in Python development.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards.
- Work on projects related to automation, data analysis, and process improvement.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 4+ Yrs of proven experience as a Python developer, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
- Proficiency in Python and its popular libraries and frameworks, such as Django, Flask, Pandas, NumPy, and others.
- Experience with database systems, such as SQL and NoSQL databases, and the ability to write efficient database queries.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in the logistics or shipping industry is a plus but not required.
