Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented API Software Engineer with expertise in .NET technologies to join our dynamic development team. As an API Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure APIs that power various applications and services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET Core and C#.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Integrate APIs with various external and internal systems, including databases, third-party services, and web applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices in API development and software engineering.
• Conduct thorough testing (unit, integration, performance) and debugging to ensure API functionality, security, and performance.
• Implement security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and API key management.
• Work closely with DevOps to deploy and monitor APIs in production environments using CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in API development, .NET ecosystem, and cloud services.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of experience in API development using .NET Core and C#.
• Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and working with JSON, XML, and other data formats.
• Strong understanding of API security, including OAuth2, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server or MySQL, and experience writing complex queries.
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS for deploying and scaling APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.

Good to Have:

• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and gRPC.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience with API monitoring tools and performance tuning.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or Vue.js for API integration.
