The Sourcing Partner is responsible for leading strategic and complex projects within Asset strategy and strategic partnerships (ASSP) organization including but not limited to sourcing and transformation initiatives across the different procurement categories. The role is critical in ensuring quality and a better outcome to our customers being able to connect the different business areas that will enable Maersk strategy.

This opportunity is part of a recently established function within the Asset Strategy and Strategic Partnerships (ASSP). It is an exciting platform as you will be an active force of change management, resulting in the transformation of the global team and ultimately our customer outcomes. 

ASSP considers all procurement categories and is responsible to determine and implement Asset Strategy for the Maersk Group supporting capital allocation decisions including buy, build and lease trade-offs for business growth and to deliver quality customer outcomes regardless of asset ownership. Our scope covers all business, including Ocean, Logistics & Services, terminal, etc.

Key responsibilities 

Based Singapore, reporting into the Headquarters office in Copenhagen, the Sourcing Partner will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organization both at a regional and a global level to drive and surpass the different projects objectives. Additionally, the Sourcing Partner needs to be an active force on challenging the status quo, looking after alternatives, showing curiosity, and constantly acquiring additional knowledge that will enable a better outcome for the company. 

  • Project management of complex and strategically high value projects across the supply chain to achieve streamlined processes, effective collaboration, and successful project delivery. 
  • Take lead on assigned projects and contribute with your expertise, industry knowledge and create synergies between categories and products both internally and externally.  
  • Close involvement with the core team and senior stakeholders, ensuring all relevant parties are involved in a timely manner.  
  • Own, drive and continuously improve on selected standardized methodologies, tools, and processes. 
  • Take lead and/or provide required support on complex negotiations with Maersk key vendors. 

Who we are looking for 

  • Team player with a strategic mindset and a strong business acumen who can connect the different products across the organization. 
  • Possess substantial knowledge and experience in the commercial business function within the logistics & supply chain industry.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management & analytics skills
  • Keen eye for continuous improvement and take ownership of them when identified. 
  • Process and detail oriented by nature but are agile in working within the ambiguity of not having all the details. 
  • Customer centricity mindset and have experience in putting this into practice and resolve issues by collaborating with stakeholders as opposed to doing it alone.  
  • Experience & knowledge working in the Asia region is preferred.
