As Data Centre Support Engineer at Maersk, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining, maintaining and supporting the data centre infrastructure of our regional APM terminals with primary focus on the Algeciras terminal.

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Support Engineer to join our Regional Service Delivery team from one of our so-called HUBS-terminals in Algeciras, Spain.

As Data Centre Support Engineer, as part of both a local- and multi-site team you will play a pivotal role in working with global teams and the rest of the Regional Service Delivery team to execute on our modernizing, standardizing and security agenda for the data centre infrastructure. You will oversee local infrastructure health, implement global and local driven projects, troubleshoot and remediate issues and follow up on incidents and requests.

Key Responsibilities –

Additionally, to the duties above responsibilities lie in following areas -

• Ensure Service Availability: Maintain the availability and reliability of terminal data centre services to support uninterrupted business operations
• ITSM Process Management: Leverage the Service Now platform to efficiently handle ITSM processes, including incident resolution, request fulfillment, and change management.
• Change Management: Execute global change programs within the data centre domain, ensuring first-time-right implementation without causing unplanned business interruptions.
• Cyber Resiliency: Strengthen cyber resilience by adhering to APM Terminals’ standards and policies, including timely patch management for all data centre infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Monitoring: Ensure visibility and monitoring of data centre infrastructure using standardized global and local tools, with proactive and reactive follow-up on alerts.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain thorough documentation on data centre infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.

We’re looking for -

• In-depth Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and experience with industry standards and best practices for data centre technologies, particularly in Compute, Storage, Virtualization, and Backup.
• Techical Skills: Strong hands-on experience on implementing, supporting, and administering data centre technologies such as VMware, Windows OS, Linux OS, Veeam, and Commvault (certifications preferred).
• Language Proficiency: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing.
• ITSM Processes: Working experience with ITSM tools and processes for at minimal incident management, change management, and request fulfillment.
• Cybersecurity Focus: Strong emphasis on cybersecurity, with a risk mitigation mindset and proactive approach to ensuring resilience.
• Advanced Technologies: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, hyper-converged infrastructures, cloud computing, and monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Zabbix, and SolarWinds is a plus.
• Vendor Collaboration: Proven ability to work with vendors such as HP, Dell, and NetApp for data centre related solutions.
• Team Collaboration: Demonstrated success in working within international, multi-vendor, and cross-functional support teams.
• Troubleshooting & Orchestration: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot, orchestrate, and maintain an overview of complex environments.
• Documentation & Reporting: A proactive approach to creating clear documentation, reporting to stakeholders, and keeping management informed.
• Workload Management: Ability to multitask effectively across various data centre related projects, and daily change and incident activities, prioritizing and managing workloads efficiently.
