🗨️ About the Team

  • The candidate will work as a DevOps Engineer in the MLOps team that is part of the AI Platform department. The role of the AI Platform department is to support the AI Research department in their model development to continuously improve it.
  • A close collaboration is expected with DevOps/MLOps/Data Engineers within the MLOps team to maintain and enhance the current infrastructure and services of the AI Platform, but also with Software Engineers in FE/BE teams or Researchers to help them automate and improve their processes.

  • This DevOps Engineer role involves solving numerous challenging yet interesting problems to contribute to our mission. To be more specific:
    • Design and setup end-to-end automation to allow Researchers and Software Engineers to focus on feature development and model improvements
    • Optimize infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve performance to accelerate internal processes
    • Mentor juniors and educate them to the DevOps best practices to provide reliable and reproducible solutions

🚩 Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and manage on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure to support increasing workload
  • Automate all the steps of the Software Development Life Cycle of internal applications to improve speed of development and deployment
  • Enhance applications and infrastructure monitoring, backup and security to detect vulnerabilities, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities
  • Move towards infrastructure as a service for our data pipeline solution and internal applications
  • Preach and coach DevOps good practices to other coworkers/teams
  • Resolve complicated technical issues relevant to our systems, infrastructure, and DevOps

🎯 Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, (Software) Engineering or a related field or proven practical experience.
  • 6+ years experience in DevOps/Software Engineering
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Git, Docker, Helm and CI/CD pipelines tools (e.g. Github Actions, Gitlab CI, Jenkins, …)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, …)
  • Experience with Cloud Providers like (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure, …)
  • Proficient in English
  • Highly responsible, eye for detail and motivated to build high quality and reliable solutions following the current best practices
  • Exceptional teamwork and mentoring skills
  • Passionate about Agile, DevOps and security best practices
  • Knowledge of Linux servers administration and shell scripts
  • Experience in application and infrastructure monitoring
  • Understanding of cluster auto-scaling and cost-efficient cloud-based solutions
  • Positive influencer and activator of teammates
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies

🏅 Preferred Experiences

  • Experience with ArgoCD or other GitOps tools
  • Experience in application and infrastructure vulnerability checks
  • Experience with a programming language (e.g. Python, Go, …)
  • Understanding of common machine learning principles
  • Contributions to open source projects
