🗨️ About the team

Who will I spend 8 hours a day with?

  • You will work in the cancer screening research department, with a group of enthusiastic and talented AI researchers and engineers. We contribute to real-world products, while also solving meaningful and applied research projects.
  • The teams and members of the department have diverse cultural backgrounds(9 nationalities!), experience, and interests. Some of us are passionate about engineering, others about model-centric AI, and some others about data-centric AI. In the end, we are all proud of contributing to improving the lives of cancer patients.

🚩 Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI-solutions to advance the suite of Lunit’s products and the state-of-the art of AI in medical image analysis
  • Work closely with medical doctors, product managers, and engineers to develop features that push forward our AI models and methodologies
  • Contribute to the statistical analysis of AI models and datasets used to train the models, promote data integrity, derive clinical insights from data and other data related activities
  • Push the organization’s technological advancement and publish the outcomes at top-tier journals and conferences, or other means of public dissemination

🚩 Tools Used

  • Programming languages/framework: Python, PyTorch, SKlearn, Statsmodels, Prefect
  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform
  • General: Git, Docker, Confluence, Jira

🎯 Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a discipline related to data science or statistics.
  • Solid experience with Git, Python, unit/integration testing, multithreading, etc.
  • Solid experience with developing and evaluating machine learning models for real world applications.
  • Experience in bringing data products into production(software/data engineering skills).
  • Solid experience in working in multidisciplinary teams, communicating and advocating ideas.
  • Highly responsible, eye for detail and motivated to build high quality and reliable solutions following the current best practices

🏅 Preferred Experiences

  • Experience working with image data, in particular medical images.
  • Open to relocate to Lunit HQ in Seoul.
  • Experience in deploying and monitoring machine learning systems.
  • Expertise in a data-centric area of AI and Machine Learning:
    • Causal Inference / PGMs
    • Explainable AI
  • First-author publications in top-tier conference in Machine Learning, Data Science or related.
  • Experience with cloud computing (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Solid understanding and awareness of recent trends in AI Research (e.g., LLM, Stable Diffusion, Vision Transformers, Self-supervised Learning).
  • Contribution to open source software.
  • Proactive in sharing knowledge, initiating collaborations, and promoting a positive research environment.
  • Passion for high-quality programming and software engineering to produce and maintain reliable code for the training and evaluation of models.
  • Passion for advancing healthcare and combating cancer through AI research.
