Role Description:

CDSClear IT is the team behind the technology powering CDSClear – a critical clearing service within the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

We are looking for a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to design, develop and complete tests for Web UIs and Web Services supporting our clearing service. The role is part of the build out of a new team based in Bucharest. The new team will collaborate with colleagues in London and Paris to deliver innovative solutions. You will learn how to deliver in a commercially focussed financial services business in a phase of expansion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership within the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, using Agile or traditional methodologies as needed.
  • Developing new functional and non-functional tests to run fully automatically in testing pipelines from GitLab.
  • When required due to complexity or cross platform requirements, Engineer and execute tests in integrated test environments.
  • Ensure test execution status and evidence captured in Test Management system (e.g. Zephyr)
  • Analyse test breaks and raise defects within tracking tool (e.g. JIRA).
  • Collaborate with global teams to understand requirements, complete test design, implement tests and diagnose the root cause of defects.
  • Champion automation, from testing to deployment, to ensure speed and quality.
  • Work within a regulated financial environment, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and production controls.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:

  • Practical experience at designing automated tests for Web UIs and ideally Web Services.
  • Expert level skills with test automation frameworks such as Cucumber.
  • Practical experience with UI Testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress) for automated testing of Web Applications.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • Linux skills suitable for executing applications, manipulating files (config/test data) and analysing system outputs such as logs and reports.

It would help us if you have:

  • Understanding of Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, microservices architecture).
  • Experience engineering pipelines in CI/CD tools to execute test environment setup and to execute tests.
  • SQL skills suitable for querying Oracle databases to verify system outputs.
