  • Analyze HAZMAT data, compliance metrics, and operational trends to identify risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities for all selling nodes. It will lead cross-functional initiatives related to HAZMAT data governance, compliance, and process improvement by coordinating stakeholders, managing project milestones, driving issue resolution, and ensuring successful implementation of business and regulatory requirements across internal teams such as Store Operations, Merchant Teams, and Supply Chain and external partners.
  • Mentor to the Environmental Data Compliance Specialist role as well as provide day-to-day guidance, quality review, and subject matter expertise to team members, vendors, and business partners to ensure consistent application of HAZMAT classification standards and data governance practices.
  • Partners closely with Merchandising teams and suppliers of items to ensure all required HAZMAT data attributes, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and UN38.3 battery test summaries are obtained and maintained in accordance with DOT, EPA, and applicable state regulations. This partnership supports accurate product classification, efficient item onboarding, and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Examples of HAZMAT items include but are not limited to: paint, stains, aerosols, fertilizers, pesticides, cleaners, soaps, detergents, pool chemicals, fuel, roof tar, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and refrigerants.
  • Manage external vendor relationships and third-party data feeds to maintain accurate, consistent, and up-to-date HAZMAT attributes and documentation across enterprise systems.
