About the Team:
Vendor Management product group is focused on building a platform which provides efficient communication, data syndication and process automation with the goal to provide Lowe’s Business partners (Merchants, SC/Compliance & Finance) tools to improve decision making , vendor satisfaction and ease of doing business with Lowe’s.
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to lead a team (or teams) of software engineers in the development, configuration and modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions. This includes providing oversight of the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.
This individual also provides insight and recommendations to inform the roadmap and overall health and care of the larger portfolio.
This is a leader of people who clears obstacles for his/her team while empowering and enabling others to solve complex technical and business problems. To be successful, the individual in this role must bring a strong combination of business and technical acumen and be able to provide solutions that balance the unique needs of both the business and Technology.
What will you do
- Manages one or more team of software engineers at various levels (often in both US and India) by prioritizing the work, balancing capacity and demand, guiding the team in their work, Managing the team's performance and providing professional development opportunities to build an agile workforce
- Oversees and leads the execution of the functional team's roadmap while aligning to overall Technology Strategy
- Manages team's work performance and provides professional development opportunities to build an agile workforce
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key cross-functional partners to support alignment and synergy of processes and procedures; provides coaching and guidance to analysts in support of these key relationships
- Successfully manages conflict and trade-offs between stakeholders in a positive manner that drives continued engagement
- Acts as a top level specialist; provides coaching and roll-out support on complex issues
- Provides actionable information to Technology Leadership
- Creates and/or leads the creation of standard operating procedures and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
- Leads the development, roll out and continuous improvement of processes and best practices
- Develops team-level objectives and helps analysts with the planning of supporting project plans to deliver the key activities of the team
- Plans and allocates work, identifying and securing needed resources, providing clear direction and managing performance of the team against established performance indicators
- Provides insight, guidance, and recommendations to help the team resolve escalated issues that arise in any stage of the process(es) they support
- Provides leadership to the team by attracting and hiring talented individuals, setting goals and communicating clear expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback as well as meaningful developmental opportunities, managing performance, providing resources and support as needed, and sponsoring and leading team members through change
- Selects, hires and develops talent for growth opportunities (often in both the US and India) to support the team; monitors team/individual’s morale and engagement to maintain highly effective and collaborative environments
Who You Are:
A software engineering leader already familiar with the backend technologies listed in minimum qualifications
Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering excellence, driving improvements and enhancements.
Capable of leading one or more team of software engineers, mentoring, and grooming team members.
Proficient in performing code reviews and providing technical guidance to your team.
Experienced in demonstrating software solutions to the leadership team and business/product stakeholders.
Primary Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
• 12 years of IT experience
• 10 years of experience in software engineering development or related field
• 5 years working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC) using Java Stack , Microservices architecture, GCP/AWS or Azure for building Enterprise grade Web applications
• 2 years of experience leading project or technical teams with formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, performance management, compensation management, coaching and mentoring to team members
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 4 years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility
• Experience in IT Management in the retail industry
• 3 years of experience in software development in an agile environment
• Experience working with 3rd party vendors and/or software solution providers
• Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
