The Role:

Logitech is looking for an experienced Component Engineer to join our Component Engineering team. We are the part owners of assign component categories and in charge of technical relevant activities and qualifying components to be ready for mass production.

This role will be accountable for providing professional advice to BG/ENG about component selection and make sure the performance of component from supplier can fulfill product and business requirement. With best performance and minimum risk for component usage. Professional and experts in component technology. Reporting to the Head of Component Engineering,

  • Qualify the components as NPI, 2nd source and sustaining requests.
  • Make sure of all qualification activities with consistency based on the agreement with the design team about the rule of specification (DWS) definition, qualification plan and summary report.
  • Build up components to verify the performance, align the result with suppliers, verify and approve the test condition, test reports from suppliers.
  • Continue to revise the DWS & qualification plan for the issue we learned.
  • Work with SDT to reduce the gap between NPI and MP on the purpose of component performance and quality consistency.
  • Work with GSM to train suppliers to provide correct material, documents, and reports for qualification with high efficiency.
  • Regular meeting with CQA to review RMA issues to find the opportunity of continuing improvement.
  • Provide scorecard rating and join SQBR for component suppliers to access the performance and risk of suppliers and review supply chain strategy.
  • Provide technical comment & support for 2nd source development, supplier survey, component factory diversity and sustainability projects.
  • As consultant for quality issues after mass production.
  • Design change evaluation and approval on SPCN.
  • Verify the capability from suppliers to continue to provide the good performance component consistently.
  • Define selection guide to use components properly, learning the existing experience from industries and with best performance and minimum risk.
  • Initiate lesson & learnt as closed-loop experience improvement for qualification process, NPI, Techno brick and all the issues found.
  • Cultivating a Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) mindset, mastering AI tools, as well as general capability development. Ensure these processes effectively apply LEAN, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to enhance process efficiency.
  • Check product and technical roadmap of different component categories from suppliers and share to ENGs.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Nice to have a BS of EE, ME, or equivalent degree.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in a EE Component or Mechanical Engineering environment.
  • Component expertise will focus on EE and electromechanical devices with a priority.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in design, qualification, and manufacturing quality
  • Fundamental knowledge of how EE and electromechanical components design can impact reliability, performance and how to work with suppliers for the suitable design recommendation, parts testing/ qualification and qualify shooting investigation based on product application.
  • Motivated and proactive with the capability of working independently once targets are known.
  • Ability to interrelate with various disciplines of product development, so good interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Capability to ensure that components follow corporate goals, design criteria, and complete the qualification/ testing.
  • Provides clear and professional communication orally and in writing.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Willing to travel.
