Senior FPGA Engineer

About the role:

• Leadership and Roadmapping: Act as the primary point of contact for all FPGA-related topics, collaborating with the team to build a 6-month, 1-year, and 3-year roadmap that aligns with Loft’s technology goals.
• Work Organization: Collect, organize, and disseminate tasks within the team to ensure alignment with Loft’s overall roadmap and near-term deliverables.
• Process Development: Develop and implement standardized FPGA development processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in new product feature planning, development, and execution, working closely with other teams to ensure FPGA objectives are met.
• Communication and Awareness: Maintain regular communication with the broader Loft team to bring awareness of the FPGA team's objectives, capabilities, and status.
• Team Progression: Identify and address deficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and gaps in current outputs. Propose and implement solutions to advance the technical capability, efficiency, and expertise of the FPGA team.
• External Collaboration: Increase collaborative efforts with external partners and teams to set and meet expectations for FPGA deliverables.
• Team management: Responsible for mentorship, professional development, performance evaluations, staffing, and overall dynamics for a small team

Must Haves:

• 7+ years of experience in FPGA design and development (advanced experience is advantageous)."
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of FPGA design flow, including RTL design, synthesis, and timing analysis.
• Experience in developing and implementing FPGA development processes and best practices.
• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, Vivado).
• Experience with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus, or similar.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive team alignment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.
