Description
The Junior Operations Engineer will join our growing satellite operations team in the UAE, focusing on the programming, operations, and technical support of the expanding satellite fleet.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual eager to learn and grow into a satellite operations expert. You will work closely with senior team members, contributing to satellite operations and mission performance while rapidly developing your technical and operational skills.

About This Role:

  • Operate Loft’s satellite fleet, participating in operational shifts and support roles.
  • Assist in development sprints to improve our operational efficiency and build mission performance monitoring tools.
  • Support the operational side of mission execution under mentorship from senior engineers.
  • Develop satellite operations expertise while gaining experience in programming and automation.

Must Haves:

  • Engineering degree, ideally in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Aerospace.
  • Some experience with either satellite operations or programming/software development
  • Demonstrated determination, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new technical skills quickly and on the job

Nice to Haves:

  • Python development experience
  • A track record of delivering high impact in challenging operational environments
Orbitworks' mission is to make space simple for organizations that want to deploy physical and virtual missions to space. Building on Loft Orbital's heritage, Orbitworks will be the first commercial firm in the United Arab Emirates to mass-manufacture satellites. Orbitworks aims to manufacture tens of satellites annually and operates out of a 50,000-square-foot facility in Abu Dhabi.
