Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. Our solution helps warehouse owners attain 2-3X efficiency improvement over cart-picking operations, by empowering pickers to work collaboratively with our robots. All this is accomplished while integrating with the operator’s Warehouse Management System, utilizing and optimizing existing facility infrastructure.
This is a hybrid role, so you will need to be in the office as needed. This is not a remote role.
Locus robotics is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer with a deep portfolio of work in the ROS community. Familiarity with concepts in path planning and optimization, vision systems, lidar processing, high level control state machine (move_base), and/or any other robot navigation related areas of expertise.
Solve complex, practical problems to improve navigation, path planning, and/or human robot interaction for holonomic robots
Implement client-side applications to coordinate the motion of mixed type robotic fleets
Create predictable movement and patterns for human-robot interactions
Write thorough test procedures for/with QA engineers and colleagues
Share knowledge and refine designs based on inputs from the team
5+ years of commercial experience working with C++ or other object-oriented languages.
Experience programming in Python 3.x
Expertise in path planning, motion planning, or controls
Familiarity with linear algebra, numerical methods and basic optimization techniques
Practical experience with robotics projects and the Robot Operating System (ROS)
Commitment to rigorous testing and validation
