Software Verification & Certification Engineer

We're seeking for a passionate individual to fortify our software verification and certification team, where your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance and certification of our groundbreaking Lilium aircraft software systems.
Our software verification and certification team at Lilium is responsible for ensuring that software systems meet regulatory standards and obtain necessary certifications for use in the Lilium aircraft. This involves conducting thorough assessments of software design, development processes, and verification activities to demonstrate compliance with industry regulations such as DO-178C. Collaboration with our cross-functional teams, our suppliers and with regulatory authorities is essential to navigate the certification process and ensure the safe and reliable operation of software in aviation environments.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of software certification in the emerging eVTOL industry.
Your Tasks and Day-to-Day:
- Manage software certification activities and participate in monthly meetings with certification authorities (EASA/FAA).
- Collaborate & closely support Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) in certification and compliance activities.
- Interpretation and application of AMC 20-115D and DO-178C for Software certification activities.
- Coordinate pre-SOI and SOI activities related to the software with the certification authorities.
- Organize pre-SOI activities with internal teams & suppliers for software.
- Cooperate closely with internal & airworthiness teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders for successful integration.
- Participate in cross-functional activities with other relevant stakeholders (systems, safety, security, airworthiness, design assurance, test rigs).
- Generate plans, standards, guidelines, and methods related to software verification and certification.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Verification and Certification of Safety-Critical Systems in Aerospace industry
- Experience in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle activities and the compliance relation to DO-178C.
- Experience in pre-SOI and SOI activities.
- Experience with Software Verification activities and tools required.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of DO-178C, DO-330, DO-331.
- Fluent English language skills are essential.
