The Team

We are the eCommerce business unit and our goal is to enable merchants to grow their businesses. As Lightspeed grows, we are bringing and integrating the Lightspeed ecosystem including payments, shipping, and other services to help our merchants build the most unique experience for their customers.

The Job

We’re looking for a Staff/Senior Software Engineer to join one of our development teams and focus on Lightspeed eCom. You will work on lots of projects that will have a tremendous impact on the daily life of thousands of merchants all over the world.

You will play a key role reinforcing the quality standards in the organization. You will have a chance to work with some of the smartest people in the company, making an impact on the fastest growing part within Lightspeed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating and extending functionality of our products by contributing to our flagship platform
  • Developing clean and highly maintainable code
  • Collaborating as part of a team (squad) to deliver product features and functionality
  • Engaging with our Product Managers, Architects, Senior/Principal developers, and other stakeholders
  • Extending your own skills by learning from and growing with the team

What you need to bring:

  • Senior level work experience with Java / Kotlin
  • Experience with Spring Framework
  • Good experience with Relational databases and NoSql (PostgreSQL, Redis)
  • Experience with programming patterns and microservices architecture
  • Exposure to modern and mainstream technology
  • Product mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ownership, openness, and commitment
  • Full working proficiency in English

Even better if you have, but not necessary:

  • Exposure to Vue.js is a plus
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS
  • Mentorship skills to help people grow
  • Knowledge of eCommerce / POS systems
