About the Role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain gameplay systems and mechanics.
- Collaborate with designers to translate gameplay ideas into polished in-game features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient C++ code.
- Debug, profile, and optimize gameplay code for performance and stability.
- Work closely with animation, AI, UI, audio, and tools teams to integrate gameplay features.
- Review code, mentor junior programmers, and promote engineering best practices.
- Estimate tasks, identify technical risks, and contribute to project planning.
- Ensure gameplay systems are scalable, reusable, and production-ready.
- Stay up to date with modern game development techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of professional game development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing gameplay systems for PC and/or console games.
- Strong understanding of gameplay architecture, design patterns, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with at least one commercial game engine (preferably Unreal Engine).
- Good understanding of mathematics, physics, and performance optimization.
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional development environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping one or more AAA or high-quality commercial titles.
- Familiarity with multiplayer gameplay systems and networking.
- Experience with animation systems, AI, or character controllers.
- Knowledge of scripting languages and build pipelines is a plus.
- Experience mentoring or leading small technical initiatives.
