Position Description:
- Provide quality assurance of imported data
- Supporting the Data Engineers in gathering, understanding and interpreting business requirements
- Identify, evaluate and implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing
- Monitor and audit data quality
- Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems
- Manipulate, analyze and interpret complex data sets relating to the business
- Work the JIRA ticket queue for any data related requests and tasks
- Create and maintain data dictionary documentation as required
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management or Statistics
- Post-graduate qualifications (in related disciplines) would be advantageous
- 1-3 years’ professional experience as a Data Analyst, or in a similar role
- Experience in interpreting and validating requirements through factual analysis and challenging of requirements and associated assumptions
- Demonstrated T-SQL scripting skills
- Hands on experience in handling large data sets
- Hands on experience in analytics and data insights using tools such as Tableau, Looker, and Power BI
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
Our Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with AWS or other public cloud providers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with source code management tools (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket)
- Familiarity with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, R, etc.)
- Hands on experience in analytics and data insights using tools such Tableau, Looker or Power BI
- Experience with Redshift DW highly desirable
- Experience with ETL\ELT tools
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Gitlab, and Confluence
