Inside the Launch Control Bench area in Rome, we are looking for a PLC & Control Software Engineer

ACTIVITIES:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC applications mainly on Beckhoff TwinCAT and NI platforms, with exposure to Siemens (TIA Portal).

• Implement, integrate, and test automation and test-bench solutions, including HMI/SCADA and field I/O.

• Integrate industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, TCP/IP).

• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing on-site when required.

• Produce technical documentation (design specs, test plans, user manuals) and contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields

Technical skills and IT tools:

• Solid experience with PLC development—strongly preferred on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and NI (e.g., LabVIEW/TestStand); exposure to Siemens (TIA Portal/Step 7) is a plus.

• Experience with industrial communications and motion/control (EtherCAT, OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, TCP/IP).

• HMI/SCADA development (e.g., TwinCAT HMI, WinCC, NI tools).

• Familiarity with software engineering practices (OOP, design patterns, unit testing) and Git-based version control.

• Basic Windows administration; experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware) is preferred but not mandatory.

• Solid time management and attention to detail.

• Good knowledge of the English language is required.

• Availability for business trips, if necessary.
