The Role
You will be the analytical engine behind our credit decision-making and portfolio performance insights. Your primary focus will be transforming lending data into clear, actionable intelligence that supports underwriting, portfolio management, valuation, and commercial strategy.
You won’t just be producing reports; you will uncover trends, surface risks, and tell the story behind the numbers—helping senior leadership and credit teams make fast, confident, and well-informed decisions across the lending lifecycle.
This is a hands-on, data-driven role at the heart of our lending business, embedded within the Credit function and working closely with stakeholders across Data, Risk, Finance, and Commercial teams.
How You’ll Contribute
Analyse & Interpret: Perform ad hoc analysis on lending portfolio performance, customer behaviour, credit risk drivers, and product outcomes.
Build & Report: Design, build, and maintain management dashboards, recurring performance reports, and KPI tracking to support day-to-day and strategic decision-making.
Cohort & Valuation Analysis: Conduct cohort analysis to inform valuation, product development, and credit strategy, helping the business understand performance over time.
Identify Risks & Opportunities: Proactively identify trends, emerging risks, and growth opportunities using data-driven insights and clear analytical reasoning.
Support Strategic Decisions: Deliver deep-dive analysis for strategic initiatives, presenting findings clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with decision science, underwriting, finance, product, and commercial teams to translate analytical insights into concrete business actions.
Compliance: Ensure all analysis and reporting aligns with internal standards and regulatory requirements, including FCA and CONC guidelines.

What You’ll Bring
Strong technical expertise in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in cloud data warehouses and data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
Experience within UK consumer lending, fintech, or broader financial services, with familiarity in credit and lending workflows.
Proven ability to conduct cohort analysis and support valuation or financial modelling for strategic decision-making.
Solid understanding of credit portfolio KPIs, risk metrics, and lending performance drivers across the credit lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with credit bureau data and internal credit performance datasets.
Skilled at translating complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders, with a proactive, analytical, and commercially-minded approach.
