Job Description
A key part of L.E.K.’s mission is a commitment to the professional development of our staff. Reporting to the U.S. Learning and Development (L&D) Senior Manager, the Learning and Development Content Developer will create new training experiences and develop supporting materials (e.g., session materials, e-learning courses, facilitator guides, etc.) with input from subject matter experts (e.g., consulting staff, Managing Directors, Core Services team leads, etc.). The L&D Content Developer collaborate closely with the U.S. Learning & Development Team. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in expanding L.E.K.’s global L&D content by partnering with L&D leads in other regions of L.E.K.
We currently offer over 150 learning experiences to over 900+ U.S.-based staff at all levels and roles at the firm and have set aggressive goals to bolster the professional development of our staff. This position exists within the People Team organization. This role is critical in the L&D strategic initiative of providing exemplary training materials that equip our staff to succeed in meeting client needs and their professional goals.
Responsibilities
Training design
- Design and develop engaging and effective corporate training courses, including both instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (VILT) sessions using presentation software and applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Prezi, other relevant platforms)
- Create comprehensive training materials such as participant guides, facilitator guides, presentation slides, and other supporting documents.
- Develop interactive and multimedia-rich e-learning courses using authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS).
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and stakeholders to understand training needs and learning objectives.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and analysis to identify gaps and determine appropriate learning solutions.
- Ensure all training content and materials align with company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Evaluate and update existing training programs to ensure relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Utilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create learner-centered experiences.
- Partner with L&D leads in other regions of L.E.K. to design new training content
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to corporate learning and development.
People Team and L.E.K. citizenship
- Support the broader goals of the People Team and firm-wide L.E.K. initiatives
- Assist with People Team initiatives and activities where needed
- Maintain unwavering confidentially with People Team and personal information
- Exhibit a visible footprint and leadership within the firm
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of instructional design and teaching or training experience, ideally in a professional services environment
- Solid understanding of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and assessment techniques
- Highly experienced in developing on-demand learning materials (e.g., LMS, instructional software, writing scripts and recording instructional video) and reference guides for adult learners
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects simultaneously
- Engaging, clear, and succinct communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team oriented: strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the firm (from Core Services, to new hire 1st-Year Associate, to Managing Director)
- Technology savvy with ability and desire to learn
- High proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Professional and demonstrates integrity at all times
- Ability to work flexibly across time zones, in particular overlapping 50% of work day with standard U.S. team working hours (9:00-17:00 US Eastern Time)
