Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world’s toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

You will support a multi‑year Defence program delivering Australia’s Health Knowledge Management System, a secure, large‑scale AWS cloud platform enabling end‑to‑end clinical support for the Australian Defence Force across domestic and global deployments.

In this role, you will support the application of modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices to operate and continuously improve a secure, resilient, and highly available cloud environment. You will focus on automation, reliability, scalability, and observability, while collaborating closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver stable and continuously improving platform services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support a secure, multi‑account AWS cloud environment hosting Windows and Linux workloads, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Manage platform lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, scaling, maintenance, and operational support

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve Infrastructure as Code and automation‑first solutions to enable consistent and scalable platform deployments

  • Implement observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering practices to support proactive issue detection, incident response, and service improvement

  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support platform delivery, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Experience supporting and operating AWS cloud environments within enterprise or production settings, including multi‑account architectures

  • Experience with containerised platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, observability, monitoring, and operational resilience

  • Ability to produce clear operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum Baseline level clearance and be able to gain and maintain a NV‑1 level security clearance.
