About the opportunity

Systems Engineering is about seeing the bigger picture.

You'll work with multidisciplinary team focused on sustaining and introducing new capabilities into service for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Systems supported include:

  • Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)
  • Ruggedised Portable Computing Systems
  • Weather Stations and Weather RADAR equipment
  • Hydrographic survey systems

What you'll do

As a Graduate ICT Engineer, you'll contribute to activities such as:

  • Working with customers and project teams to understand operational needs and technical requirements.
  • Supporting the design, integration, delivery, and sustainment of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) computer hardware and software for use by Navy end users.
  • Supporting security accreditation and management of Windows operating systems and a suite of COTS application software baselines.
  • Opportunity to develop into a system ICT Subject Matter Expert
  • Analysing problems and helping evaluate solution options.
  • Developing engineering documentation, models and technical artefacts.
  • Participating in system reviews, testing and verification activities.
  • Collaborating with mechanical and electrical members of the team throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Applying systems engineering principles to deliver high-quality, secure and reliable outcomes.

About you

You're in your final year (or recently completed) a Bachelor's degree in:

  • Computer Systems
  • Electronics and Telecommunications/Networks Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Mechatronics Engineering

You don't need previous industry experience—we're looking for people with the curiosity and potential to grow.

Eligibility

To be considered, you must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Be completing (or have recently completed) a relevant Bachelor's degree.
